THE ASSIGNMENT: ASSISTANT EDITORS
1. Select one of the 15 films and cut a trailer no longer than :90 seconds which promotes the film as a picture of a different genre. Choose the genre from the list above. For example, The Music Man (1962) as a Reality TV show or Vertigo (1958) as a Musical.
2. Select TWO films and cut a trailer no longer than :90 seconds which promotes the 'mashed up' films as a picture of a third genre. For example, combine Seven Samurai (1954) with Duck Dynasty (2012-2013) and promote it as an Teen picture.
3. Select one of the 15 films and cut a TV promo for a reality show. For example, Footloose (1984) as a reality TV show. The commercial must be exactly :30 or :60 seconds long. No more, no less, to the frame.

Your trailer must be an advertisement which promotes and sells the "film". Simply telling a story is not sufficient.
Your trailer must not exceed :90 seconds and must switch genres.
If your entry does not meet these criteria, it will be disqualified no matter how good the work.
THE ASSIGNMENT: ASSISTANT AUDIO ENGINEERS
1. Create a sound design to the 90 second Chariot Race from Ben Hur. Your design must be something new which changes the genre of the sequence and the film, for example comedic, surreal, romantic, etc.
A QuickTime of the 90 second sequence will be available for download on Monday, July 8, 2013.
To be eligible, you must be a full-time assistant editor or assistant audio engineer at an AICE NY member company or a freelance assistant editor or assistant audio engineer, sponsored by an AICE NY member company.
Deadline for entries is Monday, September 23, 2013, 5:00pm EST.
The Camp Kuleshov Show and Awards Presentation will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Bar M1-5. Doors open at 6:30pm.
